41st Annual West Michigan Home and Garden Show Highlights

Surprising and inspiring you for over 40 years, the West Michigan Home & Garden Show March 5 - 8 at DeVos Place is the best way to usher in Spring! We'll connect you with all the local businesses you need for your home improvement and renovation projects, not to mention landscaping, gardening, deck, patio and outdoor living plans! The show is a tradition of the season, and for the season. Shake off the cold and leave winter behind, because we have created an oasis that will delight your senses and inspire you to realize all your dreams for your home this year.

Local Inspiration is Made in Michigan

We’re proud that almost all of our 350 exhibitors are local businesspeople and companies who care about and support our community. They provide outstanding service to their customers, and many of them even manufacture products right here in Michigan. Come meet them -- you can feel good knowing you are doing business with your neighbors in your community. The Show is a proud member of Local First.

Breathtaking Gardens

Waterfalls, rock gardens, decks and patios ... Petals and plants, blossoms and blooms ... Perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees -- our Home & Garden Show is overgrown with gardens! If you love to stroll through a beautiful garden, enjoy perusing the Annuals section at your local greenhouse, or even just like sitting on a beautiful patio with a cold beverage, then this is the show for you. Whether you're a Certified Master Gardener or you don't know a trowel from a tiller, you'll enjoy everything blooming and growing inside DeVos Place. You don’t need a green thumb to appreciate all the show has to offer, and you're sure to come away with loads of ideas for your own garden and landscaping projects.

"Great Escapes" in the Gardens

This year’s Feature Garden theme is “Great Escapes”! Our amazing landscapers will blow you away when they take color and design to new heights in their passion for creating world class gardens. You will be delighted as never before. Be sure to visit all of the gardens and vote for your favorite to crown the 2020 Garden of the Year!

The Association of Grand Rapids Landscape Professionals

At the heart of the show you will always find the AGRLP Garden. This year's designer, DeHamer Landscaping, incorporated the theme “Great Escapes” by creating a family getaway right in the backyard, combining sports, entertainment, relaxation, and amazing food. AGRLP Members come together to create this giant garden and will be there all weekend to answer your questions -- a terrific resource for all of your landscaping needs!

HOME STAGE

This is your "Home Base" at the show, with seminars on everything from interior design and beautifying tips to DIY advice! Local and regional experts will be on hand, so pull up a chair at the Home Stage and discover 2020's hot design trends, how to organize your home, how to create a perfect flower arrangement, how to tap into renewable energy sources, or how to fix that leaky faucet!

With so many things to learn about, this would be a great time to consider an All Show Multiday Ticket – just $18 gets you in the show every day and you won’t have to miss any of your favorite topics.

Smart Plants: Magical Interactions Between Flowers and their Pollinators

Flowering plants and pollinators have been doing the “dating dance” since the beginning of time. Flowers may be designed to attract and interact with many general or one specific pollinator. If a plant can ONLY be pollinated by a single pollinator, there is no margin for error when it comes to attractiveness! Join Dr. Robert Geneve in a scientific look at how flowers signal, lure or “trick” pollinators into their nectar-filled lairs. Some even have moving parts and, if you look closely, you can see the “magic” in those flowers!

The Garden to Table Stage

Here, we celebrate a "growing" interest in the community: No longer are we happy just growing pretty gardens ... now we want our gardens to produce food that we can put on the table! From starting seeds to harvesting perfect tomatoes, from growing fruit to herbs to vegetables, from attracting pollinators to going organic -- this is the stage for Locavores! The Garden to Table Stage features "The Canning Diva" Diane Devereaux, plus the Smart Vegetable Gardening Series, staffed with MSU educators, and much more!

Smart Gardening—Simple but Smart!

Learn how to care for your lawn and garden in environmentally-friendly ways that can also save you time and money. The folks from MSU Extension are collecting and sharing smart ideas focused on earth-friendly, research-based lawn care and gardening techniques with their “Smart Gardening” information. Pick up your tip sheets, watch show videos, and find them on the Garden to Table Stage and Garden Stage to help you gain “Smart” ideas for your garden

Standard Kitchens Cooking Stage – Fresh Heart Healthy Noodle Bowls with Lightly Smoked Seafood

Reimagine Comfort Food and leave the guilt behind! Join Home and Garden Show favorite Chef Angus Campbell as he teaches you to make delicious, satisfying, and healthy comfort food. Chef Campbell will demonstrate how to prepare delectable noodle bowls from fresh, healthy ingredients and perfectly combine them with lightly smoked heart-healthy seafood. Bon appetit!

DTE Grilling Deck

Fire things up with local chef Tommy FitzGerald on the DTE Grilling Deck. Chef Tommy promises to help make fantastic food simple, and this year he's preparing everyone's favorite -- pizza! Come learn about the versatility of the grill, as well as the convenience of natural gas. We promise it will be grilling weather before you know it!

SHOP in the Garden and Art Market

This year's market is overflowing and bursting out the front doors! Come shop the colorful booths -- you'll find dozens of wonderful small businesses, including local artists and crafters, plants and garden accessories from the finest local nurseries, and artisan foods. It’s shopping at its best and a fun way to take a little of the Home & Garden Show home with you!
