The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) has chosen Grand Rapids, MI as the site for its 2014 Annual Training Conference and Exhibition. Nearly 2,000 command-level officials from local, state and federal agencies attend the NOBLE Annual Conference each year. The conference also attracts more than 100 exhibitors and vendors.
"NOBLE is pleased to take its Annual Conference to Grand Rapids, MI for 2014," says Joseph McMillan, NOBLE National President. “Grand Rapids has the charm of a small town that embraces diversity, the convenience of a large city and an active law enforcement community. Each of these important ingredients will add to the overall body of our learning as we delve into addressing issues that impact our local communities.”
“We are thrilled with NOBLE’s selection of Grand Rapids for its 2014 conference. It is an honor to host this prestigious national organization and is the direct result of the overwhelming support we received locally, regionally and statewide,” said Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell. “The ability to bring NOBLE to Grand Rapids is cause for community celebration as it represents a big step forward in our efforts to attract more culturally diverse groups to the area.”
Continued McMillan: “It should not go unnoticed that Grand Rapids was selected in a competition amongst other major cities. This monumental effort speaks volumes about the dedication and efforts of city and convention bureau officials’ capabilities to attract such conferences to this region,- and they are to be applauded for their efforts. NOBLE looks forward to taking advantage of the city’s many activities and attractions as we gather for training and fellowship.”
The conference is held in July of each year. This year’s conference will be held in Norfolk, Virginia. The 2010 and 2011 conferences will be held in Baltimore, MD, and Lexington, KY.; and the 2012 and 2013 conferences will be held in Little Rock, AK, and Pittsburgh, PA.
